Our own Groundhog, Dean Robert Hull, was born on February 2, 1938. He will be honored at a family dinner on his birthday and an Open House in his honor, on February 3, 2018, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., at the LDS Church located at 2280 North 3600 West in Plain City.
He is the son of Alton and Lenna Hull. He was a twin. His twin sister Donna died while in infancy. He was raised in Hooper, attending Weber County Schools and graduated from Weber High School.
He married Carolean Bingham on April 16, 1958. Together they have four children: Brian and Kathie Hull, Blaine and Stephanie Hull, Donna Mann and Shari Hull. He has also been a father ("Daddy Dean") to other children who have been a part of our family including: Dean, Tony, TJ, Jason and Tanya, and their families. He has 11 (plus eight) grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. He has lived in Hooper, Ogden, Clinton, Roy, Pleasant View and currently resides in Plain City.
He worked for various businesses throughout his career, most notably at Redman Warehousing/ Trammel Crow Distribution Center at Freeport. He ended his career at DDO, taking a medical retirement.
He was able to travel to Romania to bring home one of his grandsons. He has spent his retirement years gardening and sharing his produce with many, especially the raspberries, thousands and thousands of raspberries! He enjoys taking walks on the Rail Trail with his dog, Spanky. He misses the "good ol' days" when people communicated face-to-face or by telephone and not through computers, texting and robots!
