KINGSPORT — Planet Fitness is coming to the Model City.
According to documents filed with the Kingsport Building Department, the New Hampshire-based fitness center operator plans to open a location at 108 Jack White Drive behind the O’Charley’s restaurant on North Eastman Road.
True Line Construction of Bristol, Tenn., filed a foundation and grading permit with the city in May. An official with the Building Department said a 20,000-square-foot, pre-engineered metal building would be erected for the new fitness center.
The estimated cost of the building and the foundation work is $1.3 million.
