New Weigel's is open in Kingsport

Staff report • Jul 2, 2019 at 6:00 PM

KINGSPORT — The new Allandale Weigel’s store is open for business at 4401 W. Stone Drive.

Located inside the store, guests can get fresh hot pizza — by the slice or the whole pie. The pizza is hot, fresh and ready to go.

Fresh Weigel’s milk is delivered locally from Weigel’s Powell, Tenn., dairy. All Weigel’s milk is from local East Tennessee dairy farmers and is delivered from farm to store within 24 hours. The Weigel family entered the dairy business in 1931 with a “herd” of four cows, selling raw milk for 9 cents a gallon. In 1936, a pasteurizer was purchased and the dairy became among the first in East Tennessee to distribute pasteurized milk.

The store also offers Weigel’s fresh baked goods: donuts, cinnamon rolls, muffins and cookies, delivered daily from Weigel’s Knoxville-based bakery. It also features no-fee ATMs, and has gas pumps to facilitate the customers’ desire to get in and out.

The company has a rewards plan, and each store has a mission to deliver to its guests an unparalleled experience that consistently exceeds expectations, while being the convenience and food service retailer of choice in the communities Weigel’s serves.
