The free, public open house kicks off Saturday, Oct. 21, and continues through Nov. 11, a news release from the church says. During that period, tours will be held every day but Sunday.
Reservations for 15 people or fewer can be made on the LDS church’s website for the open house. Spots are still available for Saturday, Oct. 21, and Saturday, Oct. 28, but all other Saturdays have filled up.
Otherwise, the open house website says weekday slots are still available. Information about when you or your group can take a tour of the temple is available on the website.
The temple will be dedicated Sunday, Nov. 19, in three sessions at 9 a.m., noon and 3 p.m. The dedication will be broadcast to members of the church in Idaho and the temple district.
The Meridian Idaho Temple was announced by LDS Church President Thomas S. Monson at the church’s April 2011 General Conference. Ground was broken for the temple Aug. 23, 2014.
This will be the church’s fifth temple in Idaho. The other are located in Boise, Rexburg, Twin Falls and Idaho Falls.
A sixth temple in Pocatello also has been announced as well.
The Meridian Idaho Temple is located at 7345 North Linder Road, a few blocks north of the intersection of North Linder Road and Chinden Boulevard.
