'Pack's Adkins rushes off with weekly SW Virginia honors

A trip across the state line last week seemed to agree with Ridgeview sophomore Trenton Adkins, and the running back’s impressive rushing total and three touchdowns landed him top Southwest Virginia Player of the Week honors for Week 10.


Trenton Adkins, Ridgeview

Sophomore, RB

Rushed for 245 yards and three touchdowns in Friday night’s 47-14 win over Pike County Central, Ky.


C.J. Crabtree, Central

Sophomore, RB

Rushed for 131 yards and a touchdown in the Warriors’ 22-21 Mountain 7 District victory over Gate City on Thursday.


Derrick Allen, J.I. Burton

Senior, WR

Was on the receiving end of six passes for 138 yards and two touchdowns in the Raiders’ 41-0 Cumberland District win over Rye Cove on Friday.


Evan Bellamy, Eastside

Junior, LB/RB

Recorded 17 tackles in Thursday’s game against Holston, giving him 128 in 2018 and breaking the school record for most stops in a single season.


Matthew Sexton, Ridgeview

Senior, RB

Rushed for 130 yards and two touchdowns on only eight carries and caught a pass for another TD in the Wolfpack’s win over Pike Central.
