GATE CITY — The theft of merchandise from a Dollar General has led to a Bristol woman’s arrest, according to police, and the confiscation of a variety of drugs and paraphernalia.
The Scott County Sheriff’s Office reports the incident occurred on Thursday. The agency received a BOLO (be on the lookout) from the Gate City Police Department in regard to a black Dodge Dart. The driver had reportedly stolen goods from Dollar General and left the scene.
A deputy spotted the vehicle in the parking lot of Midway Market on Route 72. The driver, Chrystal Younce, of Bristol, Tenn., allegedly handed over a license that was revoked.
Meanwhile, K-9 Pearla reportedly alerted to drugs in the Dart’s backseat. Police say a subsequent search led to 11 grams of methamphetamine, four grams of marijuana, pills, a Suboxone strip, more than a dozen syringes and digital scales. Younce had $60 in cash, which was seized, as was the car. The Dodge was later returned to its owner.
Younce was arrested on multiple charges, including possession of meth and marijuana with the intent to distribute, possession of Schedule III drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia.
