KINGSPORT — Police are trying to locate a 22-year-old who has allegedly not been seen or heard from since mid-April.

According to a Wednesday news release from the Kingsport Police Department, the man was reported missing by his brother on April 20. The brother said that on April 13, a friend dropped off Joshua A. McConnell, 22, at a convenience store near the intersection of Fort Henry Drive and North Eastman Road.

McConnell was allegedly meeting an unknown individual from Bristol. Since that time, McConnell has not been seen by his family.

“Due to information shared with investigators regarding Mr. McConnell’s personal and medical history, there is legitimate cause to be concerned for his health and welfare,” the release said.

Anyone with information on McConnell’s whereabouts is asked to call the KPD at (423) 229-9429 or (423) 246-9111.

McConnell is described as being approximately 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighing roughly 140 pounds and having black hair and blue eyes. At the time of his last point of contact, he is believed to have been clothed in black baggy shorts, a black T-shirt and black skateboard shoes.
