Blountville search nets drug charges

BLOUNTVILLE — Sullivan County police allegedly found meth, marijuana and various drug paraphernalia after a search of a Blountville home Tuesday.

The Sullivan County Sheriff's Office says warrants were obtained for the residence at 232 Rhea Ave. after an investigation identified it as a source of methamphetamine.

According to the SCSO, the search of the home yielded approximately one and a half ounces of methamphetamine packaged separately, 10 grams of marijuana packaged separately and various paraphernalia items.

About $2,400 in cash, believed to be proceeds from drug sales, and a 9mm pistol were also seized.

Laura A. Lane, 52, was arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine for resale, maintaining a dwelling where narcotics are sold, promotion of methamphetamine manufacture, unlawful drug paraphernalia and firearm possession during the commission of a felony.
