Columnist D. Louise Brown is wrong about Confederate statues

Sunday , September 10, 2017 - 7:00 AM

All right, let's see if I've got this straight. Statues of leaders in some parts of the United States, who fought for the dissolution of this country and for slavery, represent the same values as the scorched bricks and bullet-pocked walls preserved in a country attacked by a menace threatening to destroy the world's democratic institutions (“America shouldn’t be in the business of taking down statues,” D. Louise Brown, Aug. 31).

Sorry, it is a poorly drawn comparison.
