Terrence E. MacArthur, born August 28, 1950, in Mount Pleasant, New York, to Claude MacArthur and Isabelle, passed away on September 8, 2017, due to complications from lung cancer.
Terry grew up on a small farm in the picturesque hills of New York State. He spent his early summers with his grandfather in the Catskill Mountains at their family cabin. After high school, he joined the Army which took him to Vietnam, as a truck driver. When his convoy became under attack, Terry was wounded and he received the Purple Heart for his injuries.
After Vietnam, Terry traveled for a few years sampling various occupations and locations. In 1979, he returned to the Army where he served 12 more years overseas in Germany, and other parts of Europe.
Returning to the States, Terry lived in San Francisco from 1991 to 2000. In the year 2000, he moved to Utah, where he worked on the light and sound crew for the 2002 Olympics, he continued his theater studies by enrolling at Weber State University and met his future wife, Dana (Valentine) MacArthur.
Terry loved the theater and had an unquenchable thirst for knowledge. His adventurous soul matched his boundless curiosity. Above all, Terry loved his motorcycles, and going from one adventure to the next.
Terry is survived by his wife, Dana; his dogs, Ernie and Boo-Boo; two cats and chickens.
