August 12, 1933 ~ October 6, 2017
Douglas R. Warren of Pleasant View, went home to be with the Lord, Friday evening, October 6, 2017, surrounded by family.
Doug was born August 12, 1933, in North Ogden, to James Allen and Zella Warren. He graduated from Weber High in 1951. Doug married Shanna Stephens and they adopted two daughters, Collette and Suzette. They were later divorced.
Doug married Linda Brinkerhoff of Beaver, on April 2, 1978, in San Francisco, California, and became the proud father of Linda's three children: Tanya, Troy and Angie (deceased).
Doug was a police officer in Roy City for many years. He was an entrepreneur at heart. His first venture was the Warrens Drive-In in Roy, Riverdale and North Ogden (which is now Kirk's Drive-In.) He later became president of Omega Tech in Boise, Idaho. His love for horses took him on the rodeo circuit where he met Slim Pickins, who led him to the Lord and this brought him to Valley View Baptist Church where he served faithfully for over 25 years as treasurer and deacon. He loved the Lord, the church and serving the Lord.
Doug was a kind, warm hearted man. Always concerned about others and always going the extra mile. This led him to be part of a medical missionary trip to India, which was a life changing experience.
Doug is survived by his wife, Linda; daughter, Tanya (Roger) of Clearfield; Troy (Candy) of Ogden; and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Jerry; and daughter, Angie.
The family wishes to express special thanks to Dr. Glen Biddulph and staff, especially Merissa, Amelia and Ethel. Special thanks also to Mark (therapist and friend), Niki (nurse and friend), the hospice folks, Wendy (nurse), Rhonda (nurse), Jennifer (massage therapist) and Amber (social worker).
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 14, 2017, at Valley View Baptist Church, 2712 N. 400 East, North Ogden, with a viewing prior to the service from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Interment in the Ben Lomond Cemetery.
