Fred E. Smith passed away October 2, 2017, in South Ogden. He was 77 years old. Fred was born to Edward Charles Smith and Helen Mae Stevenson Smith in Price.

He was married to his sweetheart, Sharon Hogue on July 8, 1984, in Anchorage, Alaska. They were married for 27 years.

Fred was an Army veteran, having served from 1963 to 1965 as a heavy vehicle driver. During his enlistment he deployed for one year to South Korea. He very much enjoyed hunting and fishing with his uncle, Jakie G. Farlaino. During his youth he enjoyed boxing and later, like his father, had a passion for trains and rose to the position of Locomotive Conductor with the Alaska Railroad.

He will be sorely missed by the Smith, Wilson, Stevenson and Farlaino families, and forever remembered by his numerous friends and neighbors.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to a Humane Society, St. Jude, VFW or a charity of your choosing.

Services will be 10 a.m. on Saturday, October 14, 2017, at Myers Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd, Ogden.

Interment at the Price City Cemetery, with a small graveside service at 3 p.m.
