February 15, 1931 ~ November 11, 2017

Arthur D. Johnston, age 86, passed away November 11, 2017, at Ideal Senior Living Center, in Endicott, NY. He was born to George and Mary (Robbins) Johnston, in Endicott, NY. He married the love of his life and best friend, Sandra L. Jackson, in April 1958. They spent many loving years together until her passing in December 2011. His heart was broken but he pushed forward.

Arthur was a Korean War veteran serving honorably with the Army in the 39th Field Artillery Battalion. He worked for IBM, retiring in 1990, from IBM in Owego, NY.

In his spare time he was an avid wood worker and loved doing projects on their Birdsall Street home. He was also a huge Western movie and fiddle music fan.

He and Sandra later moved to Syracuse, UT, in 2007, to live with their son and travel the west. They met many great people they called friends, and were members of the Community United Methodist church. He returned to New York, this September, to enjoy his later days with his daughter, and grandchildren.

Surviving Arthur are his children, David and Cindy (Fitch); daughter-in-law, Pamela; brother, Donald; four grandchildren: Joshua Johnston, Jason and Eric Fitch, Nikole Fitch(Millard); and seven great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Sandra; five siblings: Edward, Reamer, Harry, Bea (Kouterick), and Frank.

Services will be held on Thursday, November 16, 2017, at Endwell United Methodist Church, 3301 Watson Blvd., Endwell, NY, 13760.
