"Arch" was born on September 28, 1956, in Logan, Utah, to William Deloy and NaDene Griffin Archibald. His life was a great adventure driven by his innate love of music, animals, and traveling on his Harley along the open road. He was always found living life intensely and with great optimism, focused on many goals and projects. He was never a man of half-efforts...he was always "all in".
He passed away on March 25, 2018, in the Birmingham AL Veteran's Hospital following an extended illness. His early schooling was in Moab, Price, Kaysville, culminating at Weber State where he studied music theory. Throughout his life he loved the piano and keyboards, played in bands and composed many songs. His music reflected his heart and demonstrated a gifted talent.
From his childhood he had a natural affinity with God's creatures; had love and compassion for animals of all kinds-his cat, snakes, lizards, and Buffy, his buffalo. He was an Eagle Scout at 14 and a member of the LDS Church. He enlisted in the Navy at age 17 graduating from Great Lakes Naval Academy as a Fire Control Tech and being assigned to the 7th Fleet which aided in the evacuation of Vietnam. While on furlough he met Lynnette May. They married September 13, 1974, and had a son, JJ. Later divorced only to find each other 40 years later and were remarried on the 24th of July 2016. He was married and divorced from Carol Jean Fletcher and Karen McFarland, with whom he had four children: Heidi, Yssa, Nicole, and Tyler.
Blair worked in the construction field. As a steel fabricator and expert welder, he built the track for the roller coasters for Indiana Jones in Disneyland and the Desperado at Buffalo Bill's Park. He became a certified pipefitter/welder/steel erector. He was a erector on buildings at USU, San Juan HS, the Ogden Temple, and many business establishments. He took great pride in his labors and was known for his personal desire for consistent quality and hard work.
Preceded in death by his father, Deloy. He is survived by his devoted wife, Lynnette; mother, NaDene; children, step-children and grandchildren; brothers: Blake of Boise, ID; Cory of Wichita, KS; Ivan of Cortez, CO.
A Celebration of His Life will be held on Saturday, April 21, 2018, at 1:30 p.m. at the LDS Meeting House, 875 East 200 South, Kaysville.
