Dale Vasper Arnett

Dale Vasper Arnett, age 62, passed away peacefully on January 9, 2019 at Ballad Holston Valley Hospital and Medical Center, Kingsport, Tennessee.

He was born on July 15, 1956 in Greeneville, Tennessee to Bessie Beatrice (Rader) Arnett and the late Louis Arnett. 

Raised in Greeneville and a resident of Kingsport, Dale graduated from Greeneville High School and later served in the US Navy and retired from the Army National Guard. Also, he was employed by Eastman Chemical Company were he retired after 32 years of service.

He was a motorcyclist who traveled up and down the East Coast. He truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures, chatting daily with his family and friends; and spending quality time with his mother, grandchildren, nieces and nephews and of course his in-laws and his (buddy) Jordan. He had a loving and generous heart with the ability to reach people in deep and positive ways. 

Dale was a faithful member of Bethel A.M.E. Zion Church where he was President of the Brotherhood on the Steward Board and an Usher until he was unable to perform those duties due to his most recent illness.

Dale was predeceased in death by his brother, Darrell “Brown Leg” Arnett; sisters, Frances Weems and Beulah Lee. 

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 30 years, Debra Arnett; mother, Bessie Beatrice Rader Arnett; daughters, Crystal Lewis, Drena Arnett Gilliam, Dama (Darius) Doyle, Melia Arnett (Adrian) Archie, Starla Arnett (Wes) Angel; brother, Robert L. Arnett; sisters, Darlynn (Larry) McCrae, Georgia Kyle, Sylvia Riley, Phyllis Blevins; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. 

Visitation will be from 3:00 - 5:00 PM on Sunday, January 13th at Shiloh Baptist Church, 712 E. Sevier Ave, Kingsport, Tn. Homegoing services will be immediately following at 5:00 PM with Rev. Charles Hawkins conducting the eulogy. 

He will be laid to rest at 10:45 AM Monday January 14th at the VA National Cemetery Mt. Home, Tn  The cortege will depart the funeral home at 9:45am for the cemetery.
