Leola Eldean Cote

GRAY - Leola Eldean Cote, 78, went to sleep in Jesus on March 11, 2019, at the home of her daughter.

Born in August 29, 1940 in Saratoga, California Leola was raised there until moving to Massachusetts in her 20’s where she taught nursing in college. She met her husband, Joe, in 1966, and they were married on September 17, 1967.

After moving to this area in 2003, she worked as a nurse at Gray Family Clinic with her daughter and son for 12 years and loved her patients.  She also enjoyed gardening, quilting, music and outdoor activities. Most of all, she loved spending time with people.

Leola had an unshakeable faith in God, the Bible and her family.

Preceded in death by her parents, Bert and Edith Gerrans; two sisters, Cecelia Sewell and Willadel Nelson.

Surviving include her husband of 51 years, Joe Cote; her daughter, Rebekah Cote; her son and daughter-in-law Bill and Karen Cote; two grandchildren, Andrew and Amy Cote; two sisiters, Alice Gerrans and Verna Dimick; one brother, Wesley Gerrans.

Family will receive friends Saturday from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Kingsport Seventh Day Adventist Church, 3025 Fort Henry Drive. A memorial service will be held at 5:00 p.m. with Pastor David Ryder officiating.
