Prep soccer playoffs: Davis advances to 6A quarterfinals

SARATOGA SPRINGS — Davis broke a 1-1 halftime tie Tuesday to beat Westlake 2-1 and advance to the quarterfinals of the 6A state boys soccer tournament.

Jeremy Sommer scored the first Davis goal and Matt Ferre scored the game-winner.

The Darts will travel to face Region 3 champion Herriman on Friday.

AMERICAN FORK 4, LAYTON 2

LAYTON — American Fork took a 2-0 halftime lead, then matched scores in the second half to eliminate Layton in a 6A tournament first-round game.

The Lancers got goals from Kolsen Egan and Leo Urrutia, while Jake Wilbur tallied an assist.

BINGHAM 3, WEBER 1

PLEASANT VIEW — Bingham scored twice in the first half to claim the 6A tourney road win and eliminate Weber.

Bryson Ferrin scored the lone goal for the Warriors.

PLEASANT GROVE 6, NORTHRIDGE 0

PLEASANT GROVE — Northridge allowed three goals in each half to lose in the 6A tournament first round at Pleasant Grove
