The Wildcats (8-2, 6-1 Big Sky) are ranked ninth in the latest poll. They also moved up to the 12th place in the latest STATS FCS poll. This is the highest ranking for the Wildcats since 2009, according to a press release from Weber State.
The Wildcats rushed for 421 yards, racking up 35 points in the second quarter to defeat Portland State 63-17 on the road Saturday, Nov. 11.
One game remains in WSU’s regular season, and the Wildcats are in a three-way tie for first place in the Big Sky with Northern Arizona and Southern Utah.
Weber State is tied for first place in the Big Sky Conference with Southern Utah and Northern Arizona. Those two schools face off Saturday, meaning a maximum of two teams can tie for first place at the end of the regular season. If there is a tie for the top spot, the teams share the conference title.
The Wildcats host Idaho State University (4-6) at 2 p.m. Saturday at Stewart Stadium in Ogden.
