BOYS BASKETBALL: Rentmeister leads Ben Lomond to 1st win as Scots top St.

Garet Rentmeister got hit in the eye and had a basketball tipped off his face early in the second quarter. The St. Joseph defense felt the pain of watching Rentmeister drain shot after shot in the period and Ben Lomond went on to drub the Jayhawks 72-34.

Ben Lomond’s aggressive defense and full court press was the story of the game, allowing the Scots to take a 32 point lead over St. Joseph going into half time and finished the game 72-34.

An accidental golden goal is still a golden goal. Sophomore Abbi Sanford lofted a ball from about 40 yards out that turned out to be the game-winner midway through the second period of extra time and Fremont defeated Northridge on a blustery Thursday afternoon.
