Robert Duvall coming to Barter Theatre

ABINGDON — If you’ve seen the films “To Kill a Mockingbird,” “Apocalypse Now” or “The Godfather” series, chances are you’re familiar with Robert Duvall.

The award-winning actor, director and producer will be making an appearance in Abingdon on Oct. 5 for “An Evening with Robert Duvall” at Barter Theatre.

Known for his distinctive storytelling style, Duvall has earned seven Oscar nominations, four Golden Globe awards, a Primetime Emmy, a BAFTA award, a Screen Actors Guild award, Independent Spirit awards and the Academy Award for Best Actor for his role in the film “Tender Mercies.”

At the event, which will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Barter Theatre’s Gilliam Stage, Duvall will share insights, reflections and stories from his career. He will also take questions from the audience.

Tickets are $250 per person and include preferred seating for the event, a post-performance reception at the Martha Washington Inn & Spa with complimentary hors d’oeuvres, an open bar, entertainment from a live pianist and credit in Barter Theatre’s program for one year.

Proceeds will benefit Barter Theatre’s Annual Fund for Artistic Excellence. The James and Laura Rogers Foundation and Eastman Credit Union are the lead sponsors of the event.
