ROGERSVILLE — A huge crowd of horror creatures, super heroes, and a surprising number of walking appliances crowded downtown Rogersville Wednesday evening for Main Street's annual massive "Trunk-or-Treat" festival.
Decorated "trunks" lined Main Street while their sponsors handed out candy to passing masked minions.
Speaking of minion, one of the most popular stops on the gauntlet of candy was the Christian Sells Funeral Home trunk where nearly the entire cast of the Minions movies were on hand delighting children.
If you wanted to hear the sound of children laughing, the minion booth was the place to be.
And for their efforts Christian-Sells earned a third place in the best decorated Trunk judging.
Second place went to the Hawkins County Sheriff's Office's re-creation of the old west complete with buzzards, Boot Hill, cowboys/cowgirls, and a real horse.
But the award for best of the best decorated "Trunks" went to the local Boy/Cub Scouts with their "Walking Dead" theme complete with zombies breaking through a wall, Negan and "Lucille"
As for the children's costume contest, in the ages 1-3 category Little Donald Trump took first place, despite the fact he kept pulling off his "MAGA hat and he left his blond hair at home.
Second place went to Chucky, followed by a Pink Owl in third
In the 4-7 age category the popular duo of Beauty and the Beast shared first place, followed by Fiona from Shrek in second place, and Rainbow Bright in third place.
