K-Mets, Cards to play twin bill after Tuesday's rainout

From staff reports • Updated Jul 24, 2019 at 1:13 AM

KINGSPORT — Mother Nature kept the Kingsport Mets from taking the baseball field for a second straight day.

One day after the finale of their Appalachian League series at Bristol was rained out, the K-Mets’ home game against the Johnson City Cardinals on Tuesday at Hunter Wright Stadium also got washed away by the wet weather.

Kingsport (15-17) is one game back of second-place Johnson City (16-16) in the Appy League Western Division race.

The game against the Cardinals was rescheduled as part of a doubleheader on Wednesday. First pitch is slated for 4 p.m.

It’s YMCA Night at the Ballpark.
