“Part of offering excellent service is anticipating members’ needs. Members need, deserve and expect excellent online and mobile access, along with exceptional in-branch service. Our goal is to exceed their expectations in every way. We are pleased to be hometown and high-tech at the same time. Thank you to each member who chose to share their positive review,” Olan O. Jones, ECU CEO and president, said in a release.
Members are very happy with ECU’s online solutions, as their voluntary reviews on both Google Play and iTunes have ranked ECU’s app better than the competition. Since MagnifyMoney started this ranking in 2014, ECU has maintained a top position.
ECU’s motto of “ECU Beside You” is embodied in the app reviews. Members state that they love the immediate access to funds, seeing transactions post in real time, viewing canceled checks, paying loans instantly, making instant online deposits and accessing accounts from anywhere at any time.
One app reviewer sums it up well, “Love the app, makes life a bit easier.”
“This is a national ranking. The rating is unbiased evidence that in all decisions ECU truly puts members first. We do our best to only offer services that are safe, secure and value-adding,” said Jones.
Each year, a third-party service polls members on their level of satisfaction with ECU. In 2018, ECU exceeded previous happy member scores, which have consistently surpassed industry and non-industry averages.
ECU will pay a $13 million extraordinary dividend to members this month. This payout rewards members for their loyalty by distributing funds to members based on the amount of interest they’ve paid on their loans and earned on deposits throughout the year.
“In the areas we serve, no one else pays a year-end dividend. Once ECU has the level of net worth that exceeds what we need to retain to keep us safe and sound, our volunteer board of directors chooses to pay that excess back to our members in the form of an extraordinary dividend. This year will mark $118 million returned to our members since 1998,” said Jones.
ECU operates 26 locations across Tennessee, Virginia and Texas and has more than 220,000 members.
