BLOUNTVILLE — Leadership is changing on the NETWORKS Sullivan Partnership board of directors.

NETWORKS celebrated outgoing Chairman Carolyn Ferrell at the organization’s June 12 board meeting. Ferrell has held leadership roles on the board for six years, serving as secretary/treasurer from fiscal year 2013 to 2016, vice chairman from 2016 to 2017, and most recently chairman from 2017 to 2019.

Ferrell’s background

Ferrell is the vice president of Human Resources and Community Relations at The Robinette Company. Along with serving NETWORKS, her extensive community service also includes serving as the current president of the United Way of Bristol TN/VA, past chairman of the Bristol Chamber of Commerce, and past chairman of the Northeast Tennessee Workforce Development Board.

Who will be the next chairman?

Ferrell will be replaced by incoming Chairman Bill Sumner, engineering manager at Bell Helicopter. This will be Sumner’s fourth year on the board. He served as vice chairman from fiscal year 2017 to 2019 and as secretary/treasurer from 2016 to 2017.

David Wagner, Bristol Market president and executive vice president of Bank of Tennessee, will serve as vice chairman. This will be Wagner's third year on the board. He served as secretary/treasurer from fiscal year 2017 to 2019.

What’s next?

A new secretary/treasurer will be appointed following the presentation of board appointments for the next fiscal year.
