This weekend in downtown Kingsport: Music, slapstick comedy, a fashion show and more

KINGSPORT — There is a lot to do downtown this weekend, from live music to special sales. Here are some suggestions for your weekend from the Downtown Kingsport Association.

THURSDAY

Model City Tap House: Catfish Frye’s Blues Throwdown

Where: Model City Tap House, 151 E. Main St., Suite 1

What: It’s brews and tunes time at Model City Tap House.

When: The activities begin at 7 p.m.

High Voltage

Where: High Voltage, 101 Cherokee St., Suite 30

What: America’s Empanada POP UP Diner will be at High Voltage.

When: 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.

FRIDAY

Lamplight Theatre — Foggy Valley: South of the Border Comedy Show

Where: 140 Broad St.

What: A slapstick comedy that follows new adventures of the residents of Foggy Valley.

When: 7 p.m. (Other show dates are Feb. 1 at 2 and 7 p.m. and Feb. 2 at 3 p.m.)

Backwoods Burger Bar: Live music from Chris Long

Where: 324. E. Market St.

What: Catch a live performance by singer and songwriter Chris Long.

When: 6 p.m.

Bays Mountain Brewing Company: Live music from Ryan Redman

Where: 154 Commerce St.

What: Listen to Ryan Redman play some tunes and enjoy some food from Opie’s Pizza Wagon.

When: 7 p.m.

SATURDAY

Perfectly Unhinged: Together We Can Make It

Where: 113 E. Market St.

What: Special event with a fashion show, cabaret performances, a benefit auction, chili bar and dance party.

When: Noon to midnight

Door charge of $5 from noon to 6 p.m. $10 door charge 6 p.m. to midnight.

High Voltage: Live music from Fairacres

Where: 101 Cherokee St., Suite 30

What: Fairacres will be playing indoors. Baked and Loaded will be on site with food.

When: Gates open at 3 p.m. Music from 7 to 9 p.m.

Bays Mountain Brewing Company: Live music from Anthony Wayne

Where: 154 Commerce St.

What: An intimate solo show from Anthony Wayne. Shane’s Place food truck will be on site as well.

When: 7 p.m.

Model City Tap House: Live music by Justin Mychals

Where: Model City Tap House, 151 E. Main St., Suite 1

What: Justin’s brand of Appalachian mountain soul.

When: 8 p.m.

Impressions Fine Art: Have a Heart Show and Sale

Where: 246 Broad St.

What: Have a Heart Show and Sale begins Feb. 1.
