KINGSPORT - Here is what is happening in downtown Kingsport this weekend, according to the Downtown Kingsport Association.

Today

RIBBON CUTTING & AFTER HOURS:

THE 101

The 101 is a new venue on the corner of Main Street and Cherokee Street that hosts three of our favorite downtown spots: Style, Picsee Studios, and High Voltage. Join the Downtown Kingsport Association and Chamber of Commerce in welcoming these businesses to the block and celebrating their successes through the years!

101 Cherokee Street - 5:30 p.m.

MODEL CITY TAP HOUSE:

LOOSE LEAVES

We love to dance. Whether it's the sgetti legs or skanking or just flat-out acting a fool, dancing brings music to life. The Dance EP is a project near and dear to our hearts, be sure to catch it in 2017. Give it a listen, then come join us on the dance floor. We'll see you there.

MACADO’S:

KARAOKE NIGHT

Come out to Macado's for a fun karaoke experience! In conjunction with Absolute Entertainment, they're setting up a karaoke bar and they need you to come rock the house! Grab a bite, grab a brew, and get on the rotation to sing your heart out! Not a singer? No worries! Come enjoy the talented individuals who are!

KINGSPORT THEATRE GUILD:

THINGS MY MOTHER TAUGHT ME

Olivia and Gabe are moving into their first apartment together. They've just packed up all of their belongings and driven halfway across the country, to start a new life together in Chicago. Their moving day doesn't go exactly as planned, though, and things become slightly more complicated when all of their parents show up to help! Can a two bedroom apartment contain all of the love, laughs, worry and wisdom that's about to happen?

LAMPLIGHT THEATRE:

FOGGY WENT A COURTIN’

Our favorite comedy troupe is back once more in the hilarious production of "Foggy Went a Courtin” Goodin Family and friends have found themselves a part of the lonely hearts club in search of true love and romance. Since newlyweds Clovis and Ura have celebrated their blissful first-year anniversary, they take it upon themselves to help all the singles of the Foggy Valley Gang find their true love.

SLEEPY OWL BREWERY:

DINNER AND A MOVIE

Introducing our new Dinner and a Movie series at Sleepy Owl! Our first showing is Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2! This is a free and all ages showing, inside our taproom, through an HD projector, and pumped through our PA for the best experience possible. Bring friends, grab a seat, dinner, brews, and an awesome flick.

HIGH VOLTAGE:

COLLEGE FOOTBALL VIEWING PARTY

For those of us who are so excited that Football Season is back - High Voltage is hosting a full day of Football just for you! They will be airing college football kickoff games on their 4 big screen TVS and serving brews and boards out of the Fuse Box.

At 3 p.m., Sam's Snow Cones will bring out their truck and if you haven't tried them yet, you need to!

UT VS. UF VIEWING PARTY

Join us as the #23 Tennessee Vols play the #24 Florida Gators! The game is in Gainesville, so the next best place to watch it is at Model City Tap House! With the game on all our TV's and broadcast over the speakers. It's the best place in the Tri-Cities to watch the Vols! As always, beers from the great state of Tennessee are on Happy Hour prices during the whole game!
