One step at a time, the powerful intuitive horses engage and strengthen the bodies and minds of our program participants instilling joy and a sense of purpose in life.
Small Miracles, centrally located for the Tri-Cities at 1026 Rock Springs Drive, has been providing special equine-assisted therapy since 1995 and is a Christian-based, non-profit organization, as well as a United Way of Greater Kingsport Agency.
To support funding that allows it to continue to help individuals with special needs, disabilities, and military veterans, Small Miracles will host its Second Annual Western Derby Dinner and Silent Benefit Auction from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., Saturday, April 6.
“We don’t turn down anyone for services due to their inability to pay, and events like these allow us to offer that to our community,” said Mary Smith, founder of Small Miracles. “We will have some fun, yes, but the Derby will directly benefit the students and the horses.”
Guests will gather for a family-friendly evening featuring a Pratt’s BBQ dinner, live music, tours of the center and activities for the children. Guests are encouraged to dress casually in their favorite Western, English, Derby or other preferred attire.
There will be a silent auction with a variety of items, including restaurant gift certificates, lawn and garden items, certificates for health, wellness and beauty, automotive care, pet grooming, and much more.
Tickets are $20 each, and quantities are limited. Call (423) 384-1111 or email Sherri Russell at [email protected] with any questions or to grab your tickets.
