ROGERSVILLE — If you missed Saturday’s Christmas parades in Church Hill and Rogersville, or you just can’t get enough Santa and free candy, Hawkins County has two more parades coming up this Saturday.

A photo gallery and video of Saturday’s Rogersville Christmas Parade can be found in the online version of this article at www.timesnews.net, as can a link to a photo gallery and video of Saturday’s Church Hill Christmas Parade.

The Mount Carmel Christmas Parade is set for Saturday at 2 p.m.

The lineup is at 1 p.m. behind Hardee’s, and the parade route extends east from Hardee’s to the Hammond Avenue intersection.

The grand marshal for this year’s parade is State Rep. Gary Hicks (R-Rogersville).

The Surgoinsville Christmas Parade is scheduled for Saturday at 11 a.m.

The lineup is at 10 a.m. at the Surgoinsville First United Methodist Church, and the conference champion Surgoinsville Middle School football team will be the parade grand marshals.

Rogersville Christmas Tour of Homes

After the parades, there are two Christmas tours and a party waiting for revelers who haven’t had enough holiday cheer yet.

From 3-7 p.m. Saturday, the Rogersville Heritage Association presents the Christmas Tour of Homes.

The tour includes nine historic locations representing a variety of eras, including antebellum, Victorian, Victorian Gothic, Bungalow, Federal, Craftsman and Contemporary. Each location has been restored and is decorated for Christmas. There will also be candlelight tours of the New Providence Presbyterian Church and Cemetery and the Fudge Farm at 5-7 p.m. only.

Ticket sales begin on Wednesday at the following Rogersville locations: The Depot, Hale Springs Inn, The Rogersville/Hawkins County Chamber of Commerce, LuElla’s. Tickets are $25 per person, and all proceeds from the tour will help with the preservation of the historic Roger’s Tavern.

Amis Mill Colonial Christmas

On Saturday afternoon, the Amis Mill Historic Site will host a Colonial Christmas Tour of the Amis House, which was built in 1780 about 2 miles south of Rogersville behind the Amis Mill Eatery, 127 W. Bear Hollow Road.

The tours start at 1 p.m. and takes about an hour, and tours will continue until about 5 p.m. — or when people stop coming. The house will be decorated for Christmas in colonial style, and the eatery will be open and serving a special “Christmas Fare.” A $10 contribution is requested for the tour, with all proceeds benefiting the proposed repairs to the historic Amis Dam.

Tacky Sweater Party

On Saturday from 6:30-10 p.m., the Hale Springs Inn will host a “Tacky Sweater” Party featuring DJ T.J. Hatfield.

Dine and enjoy drink specials while enjoying great music and fellowship among the tackiest sweaters of them all. One participant will be crowned “Tackiest of Them All for 2019.”
