GATE CITY — Two traffic stops and a subsequent search of a motel room led Scott County police to nearly two ounces of methamphetamine and six arrests.

Information released Wednesday afternoon by the Scott County Sheriff’s Office states the first traffic stop was conducted Tuesday by a deputy in Duffield. Four grams of meth and paraphernalia were seized, according to the SCSO, along with “intelligence” that led to a second stop.

In that second vehicle, officers allegedly found 14 grams of meth, baggies and scales, and information that directed them to Duffield’s Travel Inn.

At the motel, a search warrant was executed on a room and yielded an additional 30 grams of meth, nearly $900 in cash, a .45-caliber handgun, more paraphernalia, cell phones and a car. All of those items were also confiscated.

In total, the three incidents netted the arrest of six individuals on a variety of drug charges. The suspects are identified by police as Chayne Michael Parson, Santana N. Rose, Valerie Ann Falin, Rebekah Alicia Light, Heather Nicole Stanley and Michael Lee Minnix.
