KINGSPORT — The Kingsport Police Department is seeking the community’s help to locate a missing teenager.

According to a release from the KPD, Tyreese O. Green was reported missing by his legal guardian on the afternoon of May 13. He reportedly left his Kingsport residence approximately one week earlier with a family member to travel to North Carolina to visit other family; his current whereabouts are unknown.

While there is no specific reason to suspect foul play at this time, due to his minor age, investigators need to locate Tyreese to confirm his general welfare and to arrange for his safe return to his legal guardian, the release said. Possible current locations for Tyreese include, but are not necessarily limited to, Fayetteville, North Carolina, or Kingsport, the KPD said.

Tyreese is a 16-year-old black male who is 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighs 145 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes.

If you have seen him or know his current whereabouts, the KPD asks you to contact detectives in the K.P.D. Criminal Investigations Division at (423) 229-9429 or call Kingsport Central Dispatch at (423) 246-9111. Alternatively, if you don’t wish to be identified, you can provide information related to this, or any other case, by submitting a tip anonymously via the online “Citizen Feedback” form.
