What's in this year's Kingsport Halloween Bash?

Staff report • Aug 29, 2019 at 7:30 PM

KINGSPORT — Kingsport's popular Halloween Bash is expanding to two nights.

The Kingsport Farmers Market will come alive for two nights of the Halloween Bash — Friday, Oct. 25, and Saturday, Oct, 26, with live music, games, a $1,500 costume contest, food trucks, beer and more.

Last year, more than 100 people entered the costume content, competing to win $1,500 in cash prizes. The entry fee is $10, with the top winner receiving $1,000 and five runners-up receiving cash prizes as well.

The Halloween Bash doors open at 6 p.m. both nights, with food trucks, beer, soda and water sales available, along with corn hole games, a DJ playing plenty of spooky Halloween tunes and awesome bands on both Friday and Saturday. The Halloween Bash is inside the Kingsport Farmers Market, so weather is never a factor for this event.

Entertainment for both days will include the Benny Wilson Band; Tuesday's Gone, a Lynyrd Skynyrd tribute band; plus Donnie and the Dry Heavers.

Tickets are available at the Kingsport Chamber and at www.halloweenbashkingsport.com.

Friday's tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door. Saturday's tickets are $7 in advance and $12 at the door. You can get both nights for $20 in advance.

The event is a fundraiser for Keep Kingsport Beautiful (KKB).

"Robin Cleary, the (KKB) director, was telling me Halloween was her favorite holiday and she would love to partner with us on this event," said event organizer, Kingsport Alderman and KKB board member James Phillips. "For me it was an easy 'yes' answer."

KKB, an affiliate of Keep America Beautiful and Keep Tennessee Beautiful, is an environmental and sustainability based organization that is part of the Kingsport Chamber.
