OGDEN — Ogden Canyon road will be closed for several hours Thursday evening as Rocky Mountain Power fixes downed power lines.

An outage affecting 198 people in the canyon was reported at 3:06 p.m., according to RMP outage map. All lanes of Ogden Canyon from Valley Drive to S.R. 158/Pine View Dam closed at 3:30 p.m., according to a tweet from Utah Department of Transportation Region One

Rocky Mountain spokesman Spencer Hall said a power pole came down in the area, but that he didn’t know if the cause was weather-related.

The canyon road will be closed for at least 4-6 more hours, according to UDOT Region One. Ogden Valley residents should use Interstate 84 via S.R. 167 as an alternate route.
