The group will return on Thursday for the third concert in the church’s new performing arts series. The concert, called “Masterworks of Chamber Music,” will feature pieces by Robert Schumann, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Johann Sebastian Bach.
“It’s such an amazing experience to be up close and personal with such amazing musicians,” said Mark Davis, director of music ministries at the church. “They really bring phenomenal music to life.”
When and where
The performance will take place Thursday at 7:30 p.m. in the sanctuary of the church, located at 100 W. Church Circle. A reception will follow the concert, during which audience members will be able to interact with the performers.
What to expect
The Paramount Chamber Players, created and led by Craig Combs, is an ensemble of regional artists who perform both classic masterpieces and new works. The group strives to create an unforgettable encounter with living art, leaving a lasting impression on its audience.
During Thursday’s concert, the group will perform Schumann’s Piano Quintet, which features a piano and four string players; Mozart’s Piano Trio in E major, which features a piano with the violin and cello; and Bach’s Concerto for Oboe d’amore, which spotlights the oboe.
“The sound swirls and fills the (sanctuary) completely and is so clear and speaks with such resonance that it’s a special, special place for people to feel that closeness with the players and to feel the energy they’re investing,” Davis said. “It’s almost like the audience is a part of that.”
