Somebody Loves Me Inc., in partnership with New Vision Youth and Kingsport Parks and Recreation, is gearing up for its first ever Halloween and fall festival. The free event will offer several activities for children and families, including a Halloween costume giveaway.
“It’s a great chance to enjoy a nice, family event,” said Joni Iley, assistant director of Somebody Loves Me Inc. “You can get your kids a Halloween costume. … It’s just a good, free Halloween and fall event.”
When and where
The event will be held Oct. 5 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the outdoor field next to the V.O. Dobbins Complex. If it rains, all activities will move inside to the V.O. Dobbins gym.
What to expect
The event will offer face painting, games, a DJ and free hot dogs. A few generous donors provided the Halloween costumes for the giveaway, Iley said.
