Several Christmas parades scheduled in Southwest Virginia

Christmas parades in far Southwest Virginia start on Thursday in the following localities:

Thursday, Dec. 5

Big Stone Gap — Wood Avenue, 6 p.m.

Jonesville —  Main Street, 6 p.m.

Friday, Dec. 6

Pennington Gap — Hosted by Town of Pennington Gap, with a tree lighting by the parade grand marshal in the center of town, Morgan Avenue 6-8 p.m. Lee Theater will host a showing of “National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation” at 8 p.m.

Coeburn — Front Street 6:30 p.m.

Saturday, Dec. 7

Wise — Wise Kiwanis Christmas Parade, Main Street, 2 p.m.

Norton - Christmas Tree Lighting, Veterans Park on Park Avenue, 5-8 p.m.

St. Paul — “12 Days of Christmas” parade, hosted by Kiwanis Club of St. Paul and Castlewood, from A.R. Matthews Park, 4th Avenue, Wise Street to Johnnie Ramey Drive, 5 p.m.

Dungannon — Dungannon Christmas Parade, 5 p.m. Lineup starts at 4:30. Black Diamond Market Christmas Tree Lighting and additional events will follow the parade.

Gate City — “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree” Christmas Parade, Kane and Jackson streets, 7 p.m.

Sunday, Dec. 8

Norton — “In The Christmas Spirit” Christmas Parade, Park Avenue, 6 p.m.
