This year’s ceremony included the unveiling of the most recent name added to the memorial: Sgt. Steve Hinkle, who gave his live in the line of service earlier this year.

Over the years, 10 officers have died in the line of duty. A memorial and eternal flame outside the sheriff’s office honors them.
In all, 20 law enforcement officers from four local agencies were remembered and honored.
Sullivan County Sheriff Wayne Anderson and his staff hosted a community memorial service Friday in tribute to the nine officers who died in the line of duty over the past 110 years.
